Musnad Ahmad 30:2260

'Affan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from 'Asim ibn Bahdalah, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurairah, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) delayed the final 'Isha prayer one night until a third of the night had almost passed, or close to it. He said: Then he came while the people were feeling weak, and they were in groups. He became intensely angry, then said: "If a man were to call the people to a bone or two targets, they would answer him, yet they lag behind from this prayer. I have indeed considered ordering a man to stay behind with the people of these houses who lag behind from this prayer, so that I may burn them down upon them with fire."
