Musnad Ahmad 30:2284

Qutaybah narrated to us, 'Abd al-'Aziz narrated to us, from Thawr, from Abu al-Ghayth, from Abu Hurayrah, that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Whoever takes the wealth of the people, intending to pay it back, Allah will pay it back on his behalf. And whoever takes it, intending—meaning—to squander it, Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, will squander him."
