Musnad Ahmad 30:2364

Isma'il narrated to us, he said: Al-Hajjaj ibn Abi 'Uthman informed us, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurairah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The previously married woman is to be consulted regarding herself, and the virgin is to be asked for permission." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, and how is her permission?" He said: "That she remains silent."
