Musnad Ahmad 30:2422

Yahya narrated to us, from Ja’far ibn Muhammad, who said: My father narrated to me, from Ubayd Allah ibn Abi Rafi’, who was a scribe for ‘Ali, he said: Marwan used to appoint Abu Hurayrah as his deputy over Medina. He appointed him once, so he led the Friday prayer and recited Surah al-Jumu’ah and "When the hypocrites come to you" (Surah al-Munafiqun). When he finished, I walked to his side and said: "O Abu Hurayrah, you recited two surahs that ‘Ali used to recite." He said: "My beloved, Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), used to recite them."
