Musnad Ahmad 30:2551

Abu Dawud al-Hafari narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Sa'd ibn Ibrahim, from Ibn Abi Salamah, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "The soul of the believer is suspended by his debt until it is paid off for him."
