Musnad Ahmad 30:2694

Yazid narrated to us, Muhammad informed us, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurairah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said: 'If the servant loves to meet Me, I love to meet him, and if the servant hates to meet Me, I hate to meet him.'" He said: It was said to Abu Hurairah: "There is not one of us except that he hates death and finds it terrible." Abu Hurairah said: "It is only when that [moment] comes that it is unveiled for him."
