Hajjaj narrated to us, Layth narrated to us, he said: Uqayl narrated to me, from Ibn Shihab, that he was asked about a man who combines a woman with her father’s maternal aunt, or a woman with her mother’s maternal aunt, or between a woman and her father’s paternal aunt, or a woman and her mother’s paternal aunt. He said: Qabisah ibn Dhu’ayb said: I heard Abu Hurayrah saying: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade combining a woman with her maternal aunt, and a woman with her paternal aunt. So we consider her mother’s maternal aunt or her mother’s paternal aunt to be in that same status, and if it is through breastfeeding, it is in that same status."
