Musnad Ahmad 30:2759

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, from Abu Hurayrah, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Leave me as I have left you, for those before you—or those who were before you—were only destroyed by the abundance of their questioning and their disagreement with their prophets. So, look at what I have commanded you to do, and follow it as much as you are able. And what I have forbidden you from, then leave it or abandon it."
