I read to Abd al-Rahman: Malik, and Ishaq narrated to us, Malik informed us, from Sumayy, the freed slave of Abu Bakr, from Abu Salih al-Samman, from Abu Hurairah, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever performs ghusl on the day of Jumu'ah—in the hadith of Abd al-Rahman: 'the ghusl of janabah'—then goes [to the mosque], it is as if he has offered a camel as a sacrifice. Whoever goes in the second hour, it is as if he has offered a cow. Whoever goes in the third hour, it is as if he has offered a ram"—Ishaq said: "a horned one"—"and whoever goes in the fourth hour, it is as if he has offered a chicken. And whoever goes in the fifth hour, it is as if he has offered an egg. Then, when the Imam comes out, the angels arrive to listen to the dhikr."
