Hadith 30:2859

'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, he said: Hammad narrated, from 'Ammar, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet (peace be upon him), who said: "Adam met Musa, and he said: 'You are Adam, whom Allah created with His hand, and made His angels prostrate to, and caused to dwell in Paradise, then you did what you did.' Adam said: 'You are Musa, whom Allah spoke to, and chose for His message, and sent down the Torah upon. Then, am I older, or the mention [of me in the Preserved Tablet]?' He said: 'No, rather the mention.' So Adam defeated Musa in argument, so Adam defeated Musa in argument."

حدثنا عبد الرحمن، قال حماد، عن عمار، عن أبي هريرة، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " لقي آدم موسى، فقال: أنت آدم الذي خلقك الله بيده، وأسجد لك ملائكته، وأسكنك الجنة، ثم فعلت، فقال: أنت موسى الذي كلمك الله، واصطفاك برسالته، وأنزل عليك التوراة، ثم أنا أقدم أم الذكر؟ قال: لا، بل الذكر، فحج آدم موسى، فحج آدم موسى "،
