Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Ibn 'Ajlan, who said: Sa'id narrated to us, from Abu Hurairah, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, encouraged charity. A man said: "I have a dinar." He said: "Give it in charity to yourself." He said: "I have another dinar." He said: "Give it in charity to your wife." He said: "I have another dinar." He said: "Give it in charity to your child." He said: "I have another dinar." He said: "Give it in charity to your servant." He said: "I have another dinar." He said: "You are more insightful [regarding where to spend it]."
