Musnad Ahmad 30:301

Yahya narrated to us, from Ibn ‘Ajlan, from Sa‘id, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Give charity." A man said: "I have a dinar." He said: "Give it in charity to yourself." He said: "I have another dinar." He said: "Give it in charity to your wife." He said: "I have another dinar." He said: "Give it in charity to your child." He said: "I have another dinar." He said: "Give it in charity to your servant." He said: "I have another dinar." He said: "You are more insightful [regarding where to spend it]."
