'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from 'Ammar, who said: I heard Abu Hurayrah saying: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The best of you in the Jahiliyyah are the best of you in Islam, if they attain understanding [of the religion]."
