Hadith 30:319
Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, Al-A'mash narrated to us, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurairah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) fasted continuously (without breaking his fast). This reached the people, so they also fasted continuously. This reached the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), so he forbade them. He said: "I am not like you. I spend the night with my Lord, and He feeds me and gives me drink."
حدثنا أبو معاوية، حدثنا الأعمش، عن أبي صالح، عن أبي هريرة، قال: واصل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فبلغ ذلك الناس فواصلوا، فبلغ ذلك رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ، فنهاهم، وقال: " إني لست مثلكم، إني أظل عند ربي فيطعمني ويسقيني "
