Musnad Ahmad 30:3201

Muhammad ibn Abi ‘Adi narrated to us, from Sulayman, from Abu al-Sulayl, from Abu Hassan, who said: Two of my sons died, so I said to Abu Hurayrah: Have you heard a hadith from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that you can narrate to us which will bring comfort to our souls regarding our dead? He said: Yes. Their little ones are the *da‘amis* (inhabitants/creatures) of Paradise. One of them will meet his father—or he said: his parents—and he will take hold of the side of his garment—or he said: his hand—just as I am taking hold of the hem of this garment of yours. He will not let go of him until Allah admits him and his father into Paradise.
