Musnad Abu Hurairah (RA)

Hadith 30:3327

Isma'il narrated to us, from Yunus, from al-Hasan, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: "When one of you sleeps, he ties three knots upon his head with a rope. If he rises and remembers Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, one knot is released. If he proceeds and performs ablution, the second is released. If he proceeds and prays, the third is released. If he wakes up and has not risen for anything of the night, and has not prayed, he wakes up with it upon him," meaning the rope.

حدثنا إسماعيل، عن يونس، عن الحسن، عن أبي هريرة، قال: " إذا نام أحدكم عقد على رأسه ثلاث عقد بجرير، فإن قام فذكر الله عز وجل، أطلقت واحدة، وإن مضى فتوضأ، أطلقت الثانية، فإن مضى فصلى، أطلقت الثالثة، فإن أصبح ولم يقم شيئا من الليل، ولم يصل، أصبح وهو عليه يعني الجرير"
