Musnad Ahmad 30:3488

Muhammad ibn Abi ‘Adi narrated to us, from Sulayman—meaning al-Taymi—from Anas, from Abu Hurayrah, that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said—meaning the Lord, Mighty and Majestic is He: "If the servant draws near to Me by a span, I draw near to him by a cubit. If he draws near to Me by a cubit, I draw near to him by a fathom—or a reach. And if he draws near to Me by a fathom—or a reach—I come to him at a jogging pace."
