Musnad Ahmad 30:3499

Rawh narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from ‘Ammar ibn Abi ‘Ammar, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, the like of it, and he added in it: And the mu’adhdhin would give the adhan when the dawn broke.
