Musnad Ahmad 30:3507

Abu Dawud narrated to us, from Hammam, from Qatadah; and Abd al-Samad narrated to us, Hammam narrated to us, Qatadah narrated to us the meaning, from al-Nadr ibn Anas, from Bashir ibn Nahik, from Abu Hurairah, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Locusts of gold were rained down upon Ayyub—and Abd al-Samad said: 'moths'—so he began to gather them. He [Allah] said: 'O Ayyub, have I not made you wealthy enough?' He said: 'O Lord, and who can be satisfied with Your mercy?'—or he said: 'with Your bounty.' Abd al-Samad said: 'He said: 'Yes, but I have no independence from Your bounty.''"
