Musnad Ahmad 30:3510

'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Amr narrated to us, Sulayman ibn Bilal narrated to us, from Ibrahim ibn Abi Usayd, from his grandfather, from Abu Hurayrah, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "You will certainly follow the ways of those who were before you, span by span and cubit by cubit, until even if they were to enter the hole of a lizard, you would enter it."
