Hadith 30:3583
'Uthman ibn 'Umar narrated to us, Yunus informed us, from al-Zuhri, from Thabit al-Zurqi, that Abu Hurayrah said: The wind seized the people on the road to Makkah, and it became intense upon them. 'Umar said to those around him, "What is the wind?" But they did not return anything to him. It reached me what he asked about, so I urged my mount until I caught up with him. I said, "O Commander of the Faithful, I was informed that you asked about the wind. I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: 'The wind is from the spirit (rawh) of Allah; it brings mercy and it brings punishment. So do not revile it, and ask Allah for its good, and seek refuge in Him from its evil.'"
