'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, Abu Hilal narrated to us, Abu al-Wazi' narrated to us, from Abu Amin, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: I set out, along with 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar and Samurah ibn Jundub, and we came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. They said to us: "Go toward the Mosque of Piety (Masjid al-Taqwa)." So we set out toward it. We met him, with his hands upon the shoulders of Abu Bakr and 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both. We appeared before his face, and he said: "Who are these, O Abu Bakr?" He said: "'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar, Abu Hurayrah, and Samurah."
