Musnad Ahmad 30:365

Yazid narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq informed us, from Abu al-Zinad, from al-A'raj, from Abu Hurairah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "The likeness of the miser and the spender is like two men wearing two coats of mail of iron, from their breasts up to their collarbones. As for the spender, he does not spend anything from it except that it expands, making a ring in its place, so he widens it upon himself. As for the miser, it does not increase upon him except in tightness."
