Yahya ibn Adam narrated to us, Ammar ibn Ruzayq narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Kumayl ibn Ziyad, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out into the palm groves of Medina and said: "O Abu Hurayrah—or O Abu Hirr—the possessors of much wealth are ruined, for the possessors of much wealth are the fewest on the Day of Resurrection, except for the one who says with his wealth like this, and like this, and like this"—and few are they. "O Abu Hurayrah, shall I not guide you to a treasure from the treasures of Paradise? 'There is no power and no strength except by Allah, and there is no refuge from Allah except unto Him.'" "O Abu Hurayrah, do you know what is the right of Allah upon the servants, and what is the right of the servants upon Allah?" He said: I said: Allah and His Messenger know best. He said: "Indeed, the right of Allah upon the servants is that they worship Him and do not associate anything with Him, and the right of the servants upon Allah is that He does not punish those among them who do that."
