Musnad Ahmad 30:3772

Umayyah ibn Khalid narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah and Abu ‘Umar al-Darir narrated to us—the meaning is the same—he said: Hammad narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn ‘Amr, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, who said: "Lut said: 'If only I had strength against you, or could take refuge in a strong pillar.' He said: 'He was indeed taking refuge in a strong pillar, but he meant his clan. And Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, did not send a prophet after him except that He sent him within the peak of his people.'" Abu ‘Umar said: "And Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, did not send a prophet after him except within the protection of his people."
