Rawh narrated to us, Zuhayr narrated to us, Zayd ibn Aslam narrated to us, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said: "Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says: 'I am as My servant expects Me to be, and I am with him when he remembers Me. By Allah, He is more joyful at the repentance of His servant than one of you who finds his lost item in the wilderness' — Abu Abdullah said: I think he said 'his lost item' — 'And whoever draws near to Me by a span, I draw near to him by a cubit; and whoever draws near to Me by a cubit, I draw near to him by an arm's length; and if he comes to Me walking, I come to him rushing.'"
