Musnad Ahmad 30:430

Ibn Numayr and Yazid narrated to us, they said: Muhammad informed us, Abu Salamah narrated to us, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, forbade *al-wisal* (fasting continuously without breaking the fast). They said: "You yourself practice *al-wisal*." He said: "You are not like me. My Lord feeds me and gives me drink." And Yazid said: "I spend the night while my Lord feeds me and gives me drink."
