Hadith 30:44
Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us, 'Umarah narrated to us, from Abu Zur'ah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Beware of continuous fasting (wisal)." He said it three times. They said: "But you practice continuous fasting, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "You are not like me in that regard. I spend the night while my Lord feeds me and gives me to drink. So, take upon yourselves of deeds that which you can bear."
حدثنا محمد بن فضيل، حدثنا عمارة، عن أبي زرعة، عن أبي هريرة، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " إياكم والوصال "، قالها: ثلاث مرار، قالوا: فإنك تواصل يا رسول الله؟ قال: " إنكم لستم في ذلك مثلي، إني أبيت يطعمني ربي ويسقيني، فاكلفوا من الأعمال ما تطيقون "
