Hadith 30:528
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar informed us, from Ibn Tawus, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: "The Angel of Death was sent to Moses. When he came to him, he struck him and gouged out his eye. He returned to his Lord, the Almighty and Majestic, and said: 'You sent me to a servant who does not want to die.' God, the Almighty and Majestic, restored his eye to him and said: 'Return to him and say to him: Place your hand on the back of an ox; for every hair your hand covers, you shall have a year [of life].' He said: 'O my Lord, and then what?' He said: 'Then death.' He said: 'Then [let it be] now.' And he asked God to bring him near to the Holy Land, the distance of a stone's throw." He said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: "If I were there, I would have shown you his grave by the side of the road, beneath the red sand dune."
