'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Abu Salamah ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, who said: Abu Hurayrah used to lead us in prayer. He would say the takbir when he stood, and when he bowed, and when he intended to prostrate after he rose from bowing, and when he intended to prostrate after he rose from prostration, and when he sat, and when he intended to rise in the two rak'ahs he would say the takbir. He would say the takbir in the same manner in the final two rak'ahs. When he finished with the taslim, he said: "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, I am the closest of you in resemblance to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)—meaning his prayer—this remained his prayer until he departed from the world."
