Musnad Ahmad 30:600

'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar informed us, from Ayyub, from Ibn Sirin, from Abu Hurairah, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Paradise and the Fire argued. Paradise said: 'O Lord, why is it that none enter me except the poor people and the lowly among them?' And the Fire said: 'O Lord, why is it that none enter me except the tyrants and the arrogant?' So He said to the Fire: 'You are My punishment; I afflict with you whom I will.' And He said to Paradise: 'You are My mercy; I bestow you upon whom I will. And for each of you is its filling.' As for Paradise, Allah creates for it what He wills. As for the Fire, they are cast into it, and it says: 'Is there any more?' until He places His foot into it. Thereupon it becomes full, and its parts draw together, and it says: 'Enough, enough, enough.'"
