Musnad Ahmad 30:738

Ayyub ibn al-Najjar narrated to us, Yahya ibn Abi Kathir narrated to us, from Abu Salamah ibn Abd al-Rahman, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Adam and Musa debated. Musa said: 'O Adam, are you the one who brought people out of Paradise by your sin and caused them misery?' Adam said to him: 'Are you the one whom Allah chose over the people with His messages and His speech, yet you blame me for a matter that Allah wrote upon me or decreed for me before He created me?'" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "So Adam defeated Musa in the argument."
