Hadith 30:75
'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from Sa'id, from Abu Hurayrah, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "They will leave Medina in the best state it ever was. None will frequent it except the *'awafi*—he said: meaning the *'awafi* of beasts and birds. The last of those to be gathered will be two shepherds from Muzaynah, calling out to their sheep, and they will find it [Medina] full of wild beasts. Until, when they reach Thaniyat al-Wada', they will be gathered upon their faces—or: they will fall upon their faces."
حدثنا عبد الأعلى، عن معمر، عن الزهري، عن سعيد، عن أبي هريرة، أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: " يتركون المدينة على خير ما كانت عليه، لا يغشاها إلا العوافي - قال: يريد عوافي السباع والطير -، وآخر من يحشر راعيان من مزينة، ينعقان بغنمهما ، فيجداها وحوشا، حتى إذا بلغا ثنية الوداع، حشرا على وجوههما - أو: خرا على وجوههما - " . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
