Hadith 30:79
'Abd al-Wahhab al-Thaqafi narrated to us, Khalid narrated to us, from Muhammad, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A nation from the Children of Israel was lost; it is not known what they did. I do not see them as anything but the jerboa. Do you not see that when camel milk is placed for it, it does not drink it, but when sheep milk is placed for it, it drinks it?" Abu Hurayrah said: "I narrated this hadith to Ka'b, and he said: 'Did you hear it from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?' I said: 'Yes.' He asked me that repeatedly, so I said: 'Do you read the Torah?'"
حدثنا عبد الوهاب الثقفي، حدثنا خالد، عن محمد، عن أبي هريرة، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " فقدت أمة من بني إسرائيل، لم يدر ما فعلت، وإني لا أراها إلا الفأر، ألا ترونها إذا وضع لها ألبان الإبل لا تشرب، وإذا وضع لها ألبان الشاء شربته؟ " قال أبو هريرة: " حدثت بهذا الحديث كعبا، فقال: سمعته من رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم؟ فقلت: نعم، فقال لي ذلك مرارا، فقلت: أتقرأ التوراة؟ "
