Musnad Ahmad 30:823

Yazid narrated to us, 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Salamah al-Majishun informed us, from Wahb ibn Kaysan, from 'Ubayd ibn 'Umayr al-Laythi, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said: "While a man was in a desolate land, he heard a voice in a cloud: 'Water the garden of so-and-so.' That cloud moved aside and poured its water onto a rocky tract. The water flowed into a channel, and one of those channels absorbed all that water. He followed the water and found a man standing in his garden, diverting the water with his shovel. He said to him, 'O servant of Allah, what is your name?' He replied, 'So-and-so,' using the name he had heard in the cloud. The man said to him, 'O servant of Allah, why did you ask me my name?' He replied, 'I heard a voice in the cloud whose water this is, saying: "Water the garden of so-and-so," mentioning your name. What do you do with it?' He said, 'Since you have said this, I look at what comes out of it, and I give a third of it in charity, I and my family eat a third of it, and I return a third of it into it.'"
