Musnad Ahmad 30:830

Yazid narrated to us, Hammam ibn Yahya informed us, from Ishaq ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Talha, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Amrah, from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him: "A man committed a sin, so he said: 'My Lord, I have committed a sin'—or he said: 'I have done a sinful deed'—'so forgive it.' The Almighty and Majestic said: 'My servant committed a sin, and he knew that he has a Lord who forgives the sin and punishes for it. I have forgiven My servant.' Then he committed another sin—or he said: 'He sinned another sin'—and he said: 'My Lord, I have committed a sin, so forgive it.' The Blessed and Exalted said: 'My servant knew that he has a Lord who forgives the sin and punishes for it. I have forgiven My servant.' Then he committed another sin—or he sinned another sin—and he said: 'My Lord, I have committed a sin, so forgive it.' He said: 'My servant knew that he has a Lord who forgives the sin and punishes for it. I have forgiven My servant.' Then he committed another sin—or he said: 'He sinned another sin'—and he said: 'My Lord, I have committed a sin, so forgive it.' He said: 'My servant knew that he has a Lord who forgives the sin and punishes for it. I call you to witness that I have forgiven My servant, so let him do what he wills.'"
