Musnad Ahmad 30:839

Safwan narrated to us, Muhammad ibn ‘Ajlan informed us, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: It was said to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him: "O Messenger of Allah, which of the people is best?" He said: "I and those who are with me." It was said to him: "Then who, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Those who are upon the path (al-athar)." It was said to him: "Then who, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Then he rejected them."
