Hadith 30:87
Ibn Abi ‘Adi narrated to us, from Shu‘bah, from al-‘Ala’, and Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah said: I heard al-‘Ala’ narrating from his father, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Regarding those who revile one another, whatever they say is upon the one who initiates it, as long as the oppressed does not transgress."
حدثنا ابن أبي عدي، عن شعبة، عن العلاء، ومحمد بن جعفر، حدثنا شعبة، قال: سمعت العلاء، يحدث عن أبيه، عن أبي هريرة، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " المستبان ما قالا فعلى البادئ، ما لم يعتد المظلوم "
