Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, ‘Awf narrated to us, from Khallas ibn ‘Amr al-Hajari, who said: Abu Hurayrah said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Were it not for the Children of Israel, meat would not have become putrid, and food would not have become spoiled. And were it not for Eve, no female would have ever betrayed her husband."
