Hadith 30:94
Ibn Abi ‘Adi narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurairah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Shall I not inform you of the best among you?" They said: "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said: "The best of you are those of you with the longest lives and the best of you in deeds." Abu ‘Abd al-Rahman said: "I asked my father about al-‘Ala’ ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman, from his father, and Suhayl, from his father. He said: 'I have not heard anyone mention al-‘Ala’ except with good,' and he prioritized Abu Salih over al-‘Ala’."
حدثنا ابن أبي عدي، عن ابن إسحاق، عن محمد بن إبراهيم، عن أبي سلمة، عن أبي هريرة، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " ألا أنبئكم بخيركم؟ "، قالوا: نعم يا رسول الله. قال: " خياركم أطولكم أعمارا، وأحسنكم أعمالا " قال أبو عبد الرحمن : " سألت أبي عن العلاء بن عبد الرحمن، عن أبيه، وسهيل ، عن أبيه؟ قال: لم أسمع أحدا ذكر العلاء إلا بخير، وقدم أبا صالح على العلاء "
