Hadith 40:1
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj informed me, 'Uthman ibn al-Sa'ib narrated to me, from his father al-Sa'ib, the freed slave of Abu Mahdhura, and from the mother of 'Abd al-Malik ibn Abi Mahdhura, that they both heard it from Abu Mahdhura. Abu Mahdhura said: I went out among ten youths with the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he was the most hateful of people to us. They (the companions) gave the adhan, so we stood up to give the adhan, mocking them. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Bring these youths to me." He said: "Give the adhan." So they gave the adhan, and I was one of them. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Yes, this is the one whose voice I heard. Go and give the adhan for the people of Makkah." He wiped over his forelock and said: "Say: Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest; I bear witness that there is no god but Allah (twice); I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah (twice). Then return and bear witness that there is no god but Allah (twice); I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah (twice); Come to prayer (twice); Come to success (twice); Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest; There is no god but Allah." "And when you give the first adhan for the morning (Fajr), say: Prayer is better than sleep, prayer is better than sleep. And when you perform the iqamah, say it twice: The prayer has begun, the prayer has begun. Do you understand?" He said: Abu Mahdhura would not cut his forelock, nor would he part it, because the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, had wiped over it.
حدثنا عبد الرزاق، أخبرني ابن جريج، حدثني عثمان بن السائب ، مولاهم عن أبيه السائب، مولى أبي محذورة، وعن أم عبد الملك بن أبي محذورة، أنهما سمعاه من أبي محذورة، قال أبو محذورة: خرجت في عشرة فتيان مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، وهو أبغض الناس إلينا، فأذنوا فقمنا نؤذن نستهزئ بهم، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: " ائتوني بهؤلاء الفتيان " فقال: " أذنوا " فأذنوا فكنت أحدهم، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: " نعم، هذا الذي سمعت صوته، اذهب فأذن لأهل مكة "، فمسح على ناصيته وقال: " قل: الله أكبر، الله أكبر، الله أكبر، الله أكبر، أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله مرتين، وأشهد أن محمدا رسول الله مرتين، ثم ارجع، فاشهد أن لا إله إلا الله مرتين، وأشهد أن محمدا رسول الله مرتين، حي على الصلاة، حي على الصلاة، حي على الفلاح، حي على الفلاح مرتين، الله أكبر، الله أكبر، لا إله إلا الله، وإذا أذنت بالأول من الصبح فقل: الصلاة خير من النوم، الصلاة خير من النوم، وإذا أقمت فقلها مرتين، قد قامت الصلاة، قد قامت الصلاة، أسمعت؟ " قال: وكان أبو محذورة لا يجز ناصيته، ولا يفرقها لأن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم مسح عليها،
