Musnad Ahmad 6:12

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir narrated to me, from Mu'adh ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Uthman al-Taymi, from his father, who said: We were with Talhah ibn 'Ubayd Allah while we were in the state of ihram, and a bird was gifted to him while Talhah was sleeping. Some of us ate it, and some of us abstained out of piety. When Talhah awoke, he agreed with those who had eaten it and said: "We ate it with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace."
