Musnad Ahmad 31:13

Abu ‘Amir narrated to us, ‘Abd al-Malik ibn al-Hasan al-Harithi narrated to us, Sa‘id ibn ‘Amr ibn Sulaym narrated to us, he said: I heard a man from among us—‘Abd al-Malik said: I forgot his name, but his name is Mu‘awiyah or Ibn Mu‘awiyah—narrating from Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri: That the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Indeed, the deceased recognizes who carries him, who washes him, and who lowers him into his grave." Ibn ‘Umar, who was in the gathering, said: "From whom did you hear this?" He said: "From Abu Sa‘id." So Ibn ‘Umar went to Abu Sa‘id and said: "O Abu Sa‘id, from whom did you hear this?" He said: "From the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him."
