Musnad Ahmad 31:188

Yahya narrated to us, from Sa’d ibn Ishaq, who said: Zaynab narrated to me, from Abu Sa’id al-Khudri: "That the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) forbade the meat of the sacrificial animals (al-adahi) beyond three days." He said: Then Qatadah ibn al-Nu’man, the brother of Abu Sa’id through his mother, arrived, and they brought him some dried meat of the sacrifice. He said: "Is this from the dried meat of the sacrifice?" They said: "Yes." He said: "Has the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) not forbidden it?" He said: Abu Sa’id said to him: "A matter has occurred regarding it. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had forbidden us from keeping it beyond three days, then he granted us a concession to eat and to store it."
