Musnad Ahmad 31:20

Aswad ibn Amir narrated to us, Abu Bakr narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, who said: Umar said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have heard such-and-such person and such-and-such person praising well, mentioning that you gave them two dinars." The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "But by Allah, such-and-such person is not like that. I have given him from ten to a hundred, yet he does not say that. By Allah, one of you departs with his request from me, carrying it under his armpit"—meaning it is under his armpit—"meaning fire." Umar said: "O Messenger of Allah, why do you give it to them?" He said: "What am I to do? They insist on nothing but that, and Allah refuses stinginess for me."
