Musnad Ahmad 31:227

Ibn Numayr narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah informed us, from Sayfi, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: A man found a snake in his house, so he took his spear and pierced it with it. The snake did not die until the man died. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was informed of this, and he said: "Indeed, there are dwellers (jinns) among you. So if you see any of them, warn them three times. If you see it after that, then kill it."
