Musnad Ahmad 31:312

Abu Amir narrated to us, Ali narrated to us, from Yahya, Abu Nadra narrated to us, that Abu Sa’id informed them that they asked the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, about the Witr prayer. He said: "Perform the Witr before the morning."
