Abu Amir narrated to us, Dawud bin Qays narrated to us, from Iyad bin Abdullah, from Abu Sa’id al-Khudri, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, used to go out on the day of Eid al-Fitr and pray those two rak'ahs with the people. Then he would step forward and face the people while they were sitting, and he would say: "Give charity, give charity, give charity," three times. He said: The people who gave the most charity were the women, with their earrings, rings, and other things. If he had a need regarding an expedition, he would mention it, and if he did not, he would depart.
