Hajjaj narrated to us, Abu Isra'il narrated to us, from 'Atiyyah al-'Awfi, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: "The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) found a slain person between two villages. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) ordered that the distance between them be measured—he said: 'And it is as if I am looking at the span of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace)'—so he assigned him to the closer of the two."
