Musnad Ahmad 31:383

Isma'il ibn Muhammad narrated to us, 'Abbad ibn 'Abbad narrated to us, Bishr ibn Harb narrated to us, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, that a dabb (lizard) was brought to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He turned it over with a stick that was in his hand, from its back to its belly, and said: "A tribe of the Children of Israel went astray, and if it is any [of them], then it is this."
